Softball: Hawks Lose to Blanco, 14-11
Mom said there would be days like this as Canyon Lake gives up nine runs in the 5th Inning and
lose to Blanco, 14-11.
The Hawks had their top three batters in the line-up score eight runs but that just was not good enough to warrant a win.
Lizzy Henderson came back from a hand injury from last weekends tournament to help in some late rallies with two hits and rbi’s which was an encouraging sign.
Brianna Young also still has a hot bat with two more hits giving as she boasts a .667 on base percentage and a 1.188 slugging percentage for this Young season.
Canyon Lake still has two Freshman, Carly DuBois and Sam York, that have started their careers in the nose bleed area.
Batting Average On Base Average Carly DuBois .556 .636 Sam York .600 .700
Granted, Softball is not all about hitting, as the Hawks are still struggling defensively and in the pitching circle.
You need to have more than one of those humming to get on a streak and that will be a number one priority as this season continues.
Canyon Lake will go on the road this Friday and face Comfort and their first home game will be next week when Luling comes to the Hill Country on February 25th.
