Boy’s Soccer Whip the La Vernia Bears, 7-3
The Boy’s Soccer team put a whippen on La Vernia, 7-3 as the Hawks got offensive in this blow out.
Those 7 goals has this year’s team with 31 for the year and now needs just 4 more to pass last year’s total and have the most in their history.
There was a two year drought during the ’13-’14 seasons when those two campaigns could only muster 10 total goals combined.
Grayson Rohrbacher scored 4 goals and James Alexander, Matthew Bell, and Jordan Sczech rounded out the scoring.
Sczech was busy giving out assists as he was involved in 5 of the 7 goals on this night. Nash Young also had an assist to round out the Hawk scoring.
Canyon Lake ran out to a 4-1 halftime lead and kept at arms length as the Bears got within 3 goals again in the second half, 6-3.
Brayden Damico had 4 saves on 7 shots as CL was able to have Justin Naranjo enter the game and he made 1 save on 1 shot on goal.
The Hawks were 6-4 after their first 10 games last year and this CL team needs just 2 more wins to have the most victories during their season.
Canyon Lake will be on the road for their next two contests as they will have two repeat games with Floresville and La Vernia before their next home game when San Marcos Baptist visits the Hawk Nest on February 3rd.
A lot of firsts are possible as CL looks to play them one game at a time!!
Go Hawks!!
