         Go Hawks!!

Canyon Lake had some ups and downs in this past week’s action after CL’s Volleyball started last week with a Bi-District win over Salado and a loss to Bellville in an Area round on Thursday.

That concluded this year’s edition after an overall 23-18 record for the Varsity and saying good-bye to 5 Seniors.

Cassidy Fells, Kayla Wunderlich, Lainee Moses, Taylor Fillinger and Caroline Kullberg. Many of these ladies made their mark in several areas and will be missed by the Hawk Nation. Hopefully there might be more opportunities to see more sports exploits for these talented players. Good Luck!

The Hawk Football team finished with a loss to Liberty Hill but still had a strong enough resume for a 4th Seed and a date this week on Friday in Bryan against Needville.

All of the Hawk Sub-Varsity teams finished with winning records with the Freshman and Gold team walking away with a District 28-4A Championship. Congrats!!

CL’s Junior Varsity closed with a 22-20 set-back to Liberty Hill but this team had a respectable 6-3 record.

Next year’s football team will be loaded with some good talent after a good off season workouts.

Canyon City Grill says Go Hawks!!

Many of these players will be active in other sports and that will be good for the Hawk Nation having an opportunity to see these athletes without a helmet on.

Basketball will be starting up this week with the Lady Hawksters hosting Poteet on Tuesday at the Hawk Nest and later in the week on the road against San Antonio Lee Academy.

Those Sub-Varsity teams will have a Saturday date in a Fredericksburg Tournament.

Boy’s Basketball will start this week on the road to Lockhart on Tuesday and then The Lake will play La Vernia on Saturday with AM start times.

A time to change uniforms and show off different skill sets for Hawk Students.

Look forward to watching you play and Go Hawks!!
