What a start with two pitches and two hit players and that was followed by an error giving Bandera with an early, 1-0 lead to start this game.

Come to our Grand Opening this Saturday & way to GO HAWKS!!

From there it would be all Hawks as Griffen Williams would strike out 7 Bulldogs in a row and finished with 13 in a short run ruled contest, 11-1.

Griffen had no walks which was another good sign as this year’s pitching staff has made a habit of giving free passes.

Griffen was joined by Carter Williams in the batter’s box as these Brothers totaled 3 long balls and were back to back to start CL’s bottom of that first inning. That would give CL a lead that would not be threatened.

Carter would end the game with a two run shot and finished with 5 rbi’s in this win.

Canyon Lake totaled 11 hits and Hayden Baker and Hunter Anderson just missing home runs and settling for doubles.

Baker leads the team with 9 two-baggers during this campaign which is also the 3rd most in Hawk history for a season.

TOP 5 DOUBLES IN A SEASON:
       1) Tyler Pauly 12 ’21
       2) Griffen Williams 11 ’22
       3) Hayden Baker 9 ’23
       4) Chase Anderson 9 ’22
       5) Tanner Schultz1 8 ’21

Griffen Williams is tops with his 10th home run this season and now stands with 25 for his career.

      Bunk-Haus says Let’s GO HAWKS!!

Hunter Anderson had 3 rbi’s on the night and tied Carter Williams with 2 hits a piece.

A game that did not resemble that first contest which had CL holding on for a 4-2 win as the Bulldogs made it interesting scoring 2 runs in that final inning.

The win clinched a 2nd seed for Canyon Lake and with Wimberley’s loss to Boerne, the Texans will now be seeded 4th in District 27-4A.

Looking below you now have a La Vernia team as the opponent for CL but that still could change as the Bears and SA Kennedy will have one more battle with LV on Friday.

Canyon Lake’s next home game will come this Saturday with a start time at 1:00pm.

CL’s final district contest is this Friday in Bandera.

Way to GO Hawks!!

The ReSporter learned that #3 on Bandera’s sleeve was for a young Fredericksburg player who recently lost his life and for those that are prayer warriors it would be great to bring #3 up in your Prayers for his family and friends.
