                  ==========================================================

Hill Country Furnishing says   Beat Blanco!!

Canyon Lake will be hosting Blanco this week for a series that will reach 12 games with the Hawks leading by one game, 6-5. CL has won the last 3 years as this series has had some blow-outs but more often than not, these two schools will have a battle that will not be separated by more than 14 points.

The Panthers come into this game after losing their last game to Randolph, 14-7 while The Lake had their best offensive display of the season in their win over Smithville, 55-28.

Blanco has rushed for right at 1000 yards and has passed for 500 yards which is a switch for this school as in year’s past the run game has dwarfed their passing offense.

QB Baylor Smith is the main reason for a more balanced attack as this player has been responsible for 64% of the Panthers total yardage. Smith is a duo QB and can hurt you with either the run or pass. Smith is leading Blanco with 427 yards rushing and has passed for 504 yards to date.

Jackson Cress will be the other weapon in the backfield rushing for a respectable 272 yards or 5.7 average per attempt.

        Let’s Go Lake Beat Blanco!!

For the Panther Receivers, Walton Daves (139 yards & 10 receptions) and Austin Van Pelt (159 yards & 8 receptions) will be Blanco’s go to receivers.

Defensively, Blanco will be led by Linebacker Kaileb Webster who is averaging over 13 tackles per game. Webster finished with 23 tackles in last week’s loss to Randolph.

Randolph is a run first team much like Canyon Lake, which can give you an idea, of which player will be seen more by the Hawk Nation in their slot-t offense.

Canyon Lake was able to find an offensive rhythm in last week’s win over Smithville. The Hawk’s 550 yards of offense had been a long time in coming and that yardage had a lot to do with CL’s best passing game to go along with several Hawk runners led by Sophomore James Bates’ 223 rushing yards.

   Way to Go Hawks Beat Blanco!!

A duo quarterback in Baylor Smith will be a chance to see if the Hawks run defense can keep up their season long dominance. Canyon Lake leads District 14-4A in run defense but is still lacking in their pass defense.

Last week’s win did see The Lake’s pass defense shut down a good Tiger passing game in that 2nd half. That will hopefully stay in form for this game with Blanco for a whole game.

Canyon Lake is favored but that does not mean a win in this series, but one thing the Panthers cannot match the Hawks in, is depth, and that should be what tips the scales for a Hawk win.

Go Hawks!!
