Jordan Anderson signs with Angelo State University for Track

Jordan Anderson signing for a chance to run at Angelo State with Family looking on.
“Jordan Anderson is one of the most decorated track athletes we have ever had at Canyon Lake,” Athletic Director Drum said while introducing Anderson to a crowd before his signature would send him to Angelo State University in San Angelo, Texas.
Anderson has the best CL times in the 100, 200, 400 Meter Dash while also holding the Hawk’s best Long Jump and High Jump marks.
Last season, the Hawks, many times could count on 50 points when entered into track meets at many venues.
“We forced him to run track in middle school,” Robin Anderson said when asked what she remembered about her son’s start in track. “Coach Chapman started him out with track and he now absolutely loves it now.”
Sometimes your Mom and Dad really, ‘Do’, know best.
“When you make an arrow, you need to make everything about it so it will go straight,” Shad Anderson (Jordan’s Dad) said eloquently. “When you shoot it, then it will go straight to God.”
Jordan will certainly give you a nonchalant feeling as he strolls to his track event, you don’t know how this student might cause you to give him all your attention as he blazes around the track.
“When Jordan finds something he loves, then you will get his best and that will be his focus,” Shad Anderson said proudly.
“When it comes to taking business or whatever he needs to do, then he will give it his all….,” Robin Anderson ended. “I honestly feel he did not know what he was capable of..”
If Jordan takes life like he has track, then you might not know where he will end up.
“Olympics,” Jordan started about what his goals would be.
Angelo State has a very good Track program and this could be a stage Anderson would excel in.
“I definitely wanted a scholarship in track,” Anderson said while breaking the tape. “They (track coaches) were talking about their 4×400 Meter Relay Team and how they were National Champions last year.”
“The Relay Team has one senior that is graduating and ASU wanted me to be that person to take his place. Having a chance to start as a Freshman was a big decision and that is why I liked Angelo State over some of the D-I schools.”
“They were wanting me to make a decision soon so if I decided not to go, then they could go to their next person.”
That certainly makes sense that a track athlete would and could make a decision fast, since that is their primary goal in this sport…to be fast.
Canyon Lake also had Mikk Griffin, who ran for CL two years ago, running track for the Rams two years ago.
Anderson’s career for Canyon Lake is not quite over yet, as he will be in Austin in less than two weeks as a participant in the High Jump.
Anderson ran the 400 Meter Dash last year at the State Meet and will have one more chance to get that one record that he is sharing with Chase Eddington with a 6’6 high jump for the Hawks.
