SKILL POSITIONS
GET HITS HAWKS!
The Lake has returning starters manning the receiving corp this season and running back will have some ‘wet behind the ears’ players that will be looking to make their mark.
CLHS has had around a 70% player rate for the third year in a row during this Summer’s Strength & Conditioning time and from gaining speed~weight~improving their skill set has been noticeable across the board.
With that being the case this year’s receivers with Sr. Peyton King and Jr. Kobe Halverson are bringing some impressive marks with hopes of raising their bar this go round.
For CL’s first year (2024) of debuting a new offense it was Carter Williams and Harris Gilliam who combined with 82 receptions and 1700 yards.

Last year had King and Halverson combining with 79 receptions and 1524 yards and was helped by a deeper pool of players from their previous campaign adding another 35 receptions ~ 624 yards between Seniors Lucas Schexnayder and Hayes Holladay.
Another added variable came from those senior running backs, Gram Simpson & Chris Brown with 26 combined receptions for another 264 yards.
Those last two points above will have more intrigue in seeing which players can fill those graduated numbers.

This season has Senior Nico Wyckoff and Junior Aiden Boales as of this writing looking to be this year’s running backs.
Wyckoff has played the past two years but injuries have limited his footprint going into his final season. Thus far, Wyckoff has carried the ball 40 times for 211 yards and two touchdowns.
Senior Peyton Vann will be vying for filling that slot position while Junior Thomas Inmon having his sight filling as a tight end as well as a wide receiver.
Inmon turned coaches’ heads with some early season highlight reel catches on JV as well as being able to kick a football into the end zone for starters. He was moved up early and will be counted on for garnering some important snaps.

Other new names to learn will be Sr. Peyton Vann, Jr. Dario Faz and So. Caleb Cross.
Faz brings some splash plays from JV and Cross will add more depth to this receiving corp especially since Sophomores are not brought up to Varsity because Coaches are not wanting to waste valuable snaps with players watching from a sideline instead of getting starting time on Junior Varsity.

A main point to take hold for this group of players comes from Head Coach Sam Parker who praised, “I can’t elaborate how well these young men have done this off-season!”
