Zach Henshaw leaping into the record books.
Canyon Lake improve to 3-0 after winning an instant classic against the Sealy Tigers, Friday night at Hawk Stadium, 38-34.
Quite frankly, the ReSporter does not know where to start…how bout with the Head Coach.
“We are a ‘real’ football team,” Matt Monzingo said proudly. “You can’t get a better feeling as a coach…the kids are the ones that work we just act like their jockey.”
What about Zach Henshaw? “Awesome!! The offense was awesome, they (Sealy) have a great football team, but we made one more play tonight.”

The Canyon Lake Junior Varsity won Thursday night 32-8 in Sealy Stadium.
The Hawks jumped out into the lead scoring 20 points in the first quarter.
“We scored on the first play of the game on a 60 yard pass from Conner Ricker to Isaiah Gutierrez,” Head Coach Trent Dunavant said. “The defense gave us the ball back, and after driving the ball down the field on the ground, we scored again on a 10 yard pass from Ricker to Andrew Riali.”
Austin Denton was good on the point after attempts and barely had time to rest as Gutierrez took the Sealy Tiger punt back 55 yards for another touchdown.
The second quarter slowed down for the Hawks and the Tigers held serve and kept CL out of the endzone.

Timbeerrrrrrrr!! Isaiah Johnson saving tackle
The Bracken Middle School settled in for a sound football game stopping the Round Rock Crusaders on several second half scoring chances to preserve the win Thursday at Warrior Stadium, 12-6.
“I’m going to quit while I’m ahead,” Head Coach Steve Dement said slyly. “That was fun, it makes me wish I had coached six-man 33 years ago.”
The game started with a flurry as Daniel Forgione took the opening kick-off in for the score and early lead. The return spanned 62 yards and before the fans could figure if they let the pets out before they left for the game, the Warriors were enjoying a 6-0 lead.

Head Coach Matt Monzingo
Canyon Lake had their worst offensive game last season in Sealy. The Hawks only totaled 65 total yards and no other CL team in the last three years have had a game as anemic than that night.
The offensive and defensive line controlled the trenches for Sealy and finished the game for a 33-6 victory.
“We are better mentally,” Head Coach Matt Monzingo said. “The players have put more sweat and have a bigger investment in this season.”

Head Coach Nicole Creek with her two daughters
The CLHS Volleyball team will start the District games this Friday and The ReSporter wants to see where Coach Nicole Creek is with the team for the game this Friday at the Hawk gym.
ReSporter: How do you plan to see the team that swept Llano after the first game was played?
Coach Creek: “I hope that the girls see for themselves that they have to jump up early on teams, especially at home and have energy and enthusiasm from the beginning. I think they see this now.”

Head Coach Lloyd Fields
Head Coach Lloyd Fields has won 35 of the 45 total number of wins at Bracken Christian. To say Fields has some football wisdom would be an understatement.
The Warriors have been dealing with a schedule the past few years that has started and ended tough, but the middle part usually does not present as much of a challenge.
Coaches have to use all of their motivational techniques to keep the team sharp, so they won’t forget how to compete for the end of the year and then into the playoffs.

Middle Hitter Amber Ramsey
Canyon Lake Volleyball team overcame first game jitters and won the last three games to win the match against Llano at Hawk gym.
The games would give you the idea that Llano would be the dominant team, 19-25, 26-24, 25-21, and 25-19.
The Hawks could not get out of the daze they were in to start the game and only had one rally of four points. The problem was the rally was on their last serve after being down 15-24.
