Track & Field: Lady Hawks have a One-Two Punch at Lobo Meet
Madison Churbe & Skylar Hurst do not need a Track Meet for competition.
Lady Hawk’s Varsity win their first Meet after scoring 176.5 points to outdistance 2nd place Lehman by 61 points with a very impressive day on the cinders.
The Lady Hawk JV team finished 2nd giving Canyon Lake a one-two punch for the day at the Lobo Relays at Hays High School.

A good number of personal bests as Alyssa Strickland had two marks that beat her previous times in the hurdle races.
2010 Graduate Jessica Cunningham (15.48) has held a commanding advantage with the 100 M Hurdle event as Strickland closed that gap after a 15.62 race. This Sophomore was able to secure another PR on the 300 meter hurdle event.
Another hot Hawk runner, Audrey Schulze now has the 2nd all-time best after finishing with a PR after running the 200 meter dash.
Skylar Hurst is starting to warm up as this was her first full Meet after finishing a successful season on the Basketball Court. Hurst had a PR on the Triple-Jump that ranks 3rd on the All-Time list after sailing through the air with a 35-09 jump.
Hurst led the Meet scoring 30 points and Schulze came in 3rd place after scoring 24 points. CL Ladies also had three other athletes finish in the top 10 scoring, Madison Churbe finished 5th with 18 points and Alysha Perez came in 9th with 17.5 while Natalie McCoy placed 10th with 17 points added to the Hawk final numbers.
Madison Harwell and McCoy finished out their PR’s when Harwell broke into 9th place after throwing the shot for 26-10 and McCoy rests inside 10th place with a high jump of 4-08.
Canyon Lake will be back in action next Saturday when they travel to Navarro for the Panther Relays.
