                             Go Hawks!

Canyon Lake shook off their shoes after a bad showing in their contest with Davenport to start the week and then CL played one of their most complete games in a win over Bandera on Friday night, 62-41.

The win has The Lake (2-1) in district holding on to 3rd place behind Davenport/Boerne.

“For sure…the biggest difference was energy,” Head Coach Monte Cole recalled when asked what the difference between last week’s two games. “We talked about everyone picking up slack when a guy is out or not playing well. They responded pretty well.”

Defense and Offense was on track with a 21 point advantage after 4 Hawks finished with double digit scoring starting with 16 points from Dalton Stromquist. Jacob Holland followed with 13 points with Jaxson Jeter and Mario Aguilar reaching 10 points a piece.

Another double stat was Carter Williams corralling 14 rebounds and presently is averaging 10 bounds per game since his return 14 games ago.

Difference between this night and day week resulted in taking care of the ball and cutting their turnovers in half totaling only 13 in this victory. The Davenport loss saw CLHS finish with 25 turnovers and falling apart in that 2nd half that turned a 4 point half-time deficit to a 21 point loss, 59-38.

                       Let’s Go Hawks!!

Jeter continues to get his game in gear after dishing 5 assists as all three Hawks that missed the season’s outset responded with a game that will hopefully be repeated.

Contributions for The 3 Amigos and games played out of the 25 played.
Stromquist 16 points has played 9 games.
Williams 8 points and 14 rebounds has played 14 contests.
Jeter 10 points & 5 assists has played 8 games.

Aguilar and Holland helped in carrying this win into the sunset scoring a combined 23 points. These numbers added to the Lake’s 40 points in that 2nd stanza which resulted in a comfortable outcome.

These Bulldogs came into this contest averaging 55 points and a defense allowing 47 points per game.

In this battle, The Hawks flipped that script and will now go into this week playing Boerne on Tuesday on the road and then welcome Wimberley at the Hawk Nest this coming Friday.
