The Hawk Ladies won their second meet of the season scoring 191 points while outdistancing Kerrville Tivy by 62 points.
Speaking of outdistancing, it is now official that one of the worst performing events for the ladies was those long distance events and now that has become a hot event for The Lake now.
With the graduation of Cadence Patterson, you would think, that those events would have slowed down (pardon the pun) but now those runs have added a much more important attribute being~~~DEPTH!
Canyon Lake scored 38 points in the Pleasanton Meet and won each of those races with Hannah Hummer taking the 800 & 1600 meter and Eva Zabarcencu taking first place in the 3200 meter run.
CLHS finished first in 10 of those events which is an astonishing accomplishment.
100 meter Savanna Oberholtzer 400 meter Ayren Lightfoot 800 meter Hannah Hammer 1600 meter Hannah Hammer 3200 meter Eva Zabarcencu 100 hurdles Kennedy Grindle 300 hurdles Aubrey Avey 4x100 relay 4x400 relay Triple Jump Savanna Oberholtzer
Add 6 more events that had a 2nd Place finish gives an idea of how well this group of Ladies have excelled.
Oberholtzer 39 points for the second week in a row that also doubles playing a very tough sport (soccer) who will be reaching another playoff this season.
Oberholtzer (11.99) broke her one week record breaking the 12 second mark and Te’a Gonzales (the Freshman) is now third with her 12.52 on the All-Time List.
Aubrey Avey did likewise with a 43.73 mark for her 300 meter hurdles which is now 2 seconds better than 2nd place on that All-Time listing.
Newbies? Te’a Gonzales (been scoring 3-4 events) & Kennedy Grindle 3-4 events) as Freshman playing against Varsity teams.
The Lady JV crew hit over 100 points and had 9 events finishing in 1-2-3rd place.
Trinity Turner won the high-jump with Tessa Jones and Delilah King scoring a lot of points.
For the Hawk Boys it was a much better Meet, point wise, as Luke Jeckell is threatening the 400 meter dash while CL’s Junior Varsity scored 105 points for looking at a brighter future.
Way to GO FAST HAWKS!!
