The Summer is over for the Volleyball and Football teams as both teams will

When The ReSporter heard that this new offense would resemble what Navarro Panthers run, then thoughts of having a longer halftime than an actual game with the Panthers were some of what was going as a possibility.
Think about a game where both clubs run with the ball over 90 percent of the time and you basically have a running clock throughout the contest.
This would give both bands more time on the field in actual game time for both schools.
Yes, that is an exaggeration but it still has possibilities.
When talking to individual players throughout this Summer, The ReSporter has sensed an excitement about what this offense could bring forth and those words expressed were also in that expression on their face as well.
“I’m excited,” Junior Quarterback Skylar Tschoepe exclaimed outside the field house.
Head Coach Charley Drum also made a point that this was the best off season this team has experienced in this short history for Canyon Lake.
So, what does this mean?
Canyon Lake only needed one more win last season to have a .500 all time record after the Blanco victory.
Then the proverbial bottom fell out and this team finished with it’s second worst record at 3-7.
Things just didn’t fall into place with special teams struggling, then an offense that was not consistent. This all added up to a decent defense that had too much time on the field to keep Canyon Lake within striking distance of a game winner.
Now another season and a new offense that will also field a very young team.
That formula might not instill confidence with people surrounding Canyon Lake area, but with a team that is excited to prove something on the field, then this could be just as much as a surprise for a winning season as last season became a disappointment.
The ReSporter will be running articles once again this season and is also excited to see what might happen as each week starts to unfold.
District 27-3A will have several teams that might be much closer in ability as Wimberley lost much of their coaching staff.
Navarro and Boerne will both be nipping at the Texans heals based on how those two teams finished last year.
Canyon Lake will see if they might be able to hold off Fredericksburg and Bandera for one of those four playoff spots.
As each game will hopefully give this new offense a chance to mature and be a well oiled machine and a surprise season much like Canyon Lake had three years ago.
