Canyon Lake Lady Hawks have started their season sporting a 2-1 record after starting their campaign with a loss to a Young Ladies Leadership Academy, 48-43. That has been followed up with two wins last Friday against Johnson City, 40-20 and earlier last week a Hawk win over Ingram Moore, 51-23.

Defense wins Championships and that was the straw that stirred the win and a 2nd place finish for the 8A Football team. This year’s 8A team averages 23 points per game while giving up 8 points.

Canyon Lake out scored Lampasas, 7-0 in the 3rd quarter that gave the Hawks a lead to begin their 3rd quarter and put an exclamation point by keeping the badgers without a point during that same stanza.
