CLB will host a live broadcast from BAJA’s back patio on the lake Saturday May 16th from 12-3 pm overlooking the marina in front of a live audience.
Mountain Valley has always been that last step for potential athletes ready to see what can be done when they are ready to start their last 4 years of school and compete in sports.

The ReSporter: What are some of the things the Hawk Nation can expect for the Sophomore Season with Canyon Lake Broadcasting (CLB) this year?
Cory Martelli: “CLB will be expanding this year for the Hawk season and we join forces with you Don- the Hilltop newspaper. We will have interviews both live and prerecorded with the coaching staff this year as well as faculty and student athletes. We will also have live videos posted on the hill top newspaper. There will also be live interviews with many of the sponsors. Furthermore, we will be interviewing opposing coaches on the road and here at home in the CL crib.” (more…)
Canyon Lake’s Softball team fizzled out in their last tournament, played in San Marcos, as their first day of competition was their last day of play.
Those first round games were allotted a 55 minute time limit which had those contests being decided on some occasions with players in the line-up having just one trip to the plate.
The result of those contests will not be wins or losses since there would not be enough innings to qualify for an official game.
Case and point was Canyon Lake’s win over Fredericksburg. A win but not really as both teams were only a run apart when time was called and the Hawks coming to the plate in the bottom of the 3rd inning.
It would remind you of having your hair washed and then the hair stylist sending you outside because too much time elapsed. Not a pretty sight to say the least.
Canyon Lake’s Football team had their awards banquet last Thursday and announced the all-district and other accolades for a team that finished the highest in district since the school started in 2008 season.
That 2nd Place finish has left some unfinished business for Canyon Lake when next ye
ar starts in August.
Canyon Lake did have young man who excelled and those long awaited mentions are below.
A final record of 7-4 had the Hawks needing one more win to match the best campaign in CL’s history when the 2011 team had an 8-2 final tally.
Heath McDonough made All-District on offense as well as defensive side of the ball. You could also add a decent punt return for a touchdown on special teams but not good enough for a district mention on that front.
