Hawks Win Consolation at Arabian Volleyball Tourney
Canyon Lake did it again by coming through on the opposite bracket in Devine last Thursday and Saturday.
This was a little different from the Wimberley Tournament in that Canyon Lake at least won one game on the first day of action.
The win was also against a District 27 foe from Bandera. The first day did have a much more competitive atmosphere coming from Canyon Lake as all the games were hard fought and there was no contest that was a roll over.
Once again the Hawks ruled the second day with another three game sweep.
In the Consolation match against Comfort the Hawks got some payback from an earlier loss on the first day.
“Amber Ramsey made the all tournament team,” Head Coach Nicole Creek said. “She had a season high 19 kills in our championship match.”
Another player that had a triple double was Senior Marisa Ellis with 10 kills, 22 assists, and 20 digs in the match. Add to that her two blocks and you have a pretty impressive performance.
Two tournaments and great success on the second day. Canyon Lake is now 9-6 for the season as they fast pace themselves in playing as many games humanly possible before district play gets going.
The next best opportunity of seeing the Hawks will be this Friday as they play a match at Blanco before the football game. Serves start at 5pm and then after the win you can jaunt across the street to see another Canyon Lake football victory.
