Track & Field-Baseball-Softball Enter Final Stretch

Aubrey Avey readies for her 300 meter hurdle event. Way to Go Fast Aubrey!!

As the Spring Sports start to get to their final stage both Softball and Baseball can still pull a playoff spot with wins and some luck.

Rianna Gonzales & Gabby Barnes will need their ‘A’ game this Tuesday!

Softball will play their final game in Davenport Tuesday and a win could be a ticket if Wimberley (4-5) beats Boerne (4-5) which would produce a tie-breaker game with the Greyhounds later next week.

For Baseball, The Lake, will need to sweep Wimberley this week and Bandera next week and then get some luck with a Fredericksburg Billie team being swept by Davenport and a split with Bandera.

With that scenario Canyon Lake would finish (7-8) and Billies (6-9)….CL would lose a tie breaker by tying Freddie.

Track has several ladies with a chance to make an appearance at the State Meet in May but this Friday they will compete in Kingsville and a first or second place finish will get these Lady Hawks another meet for all the enchiladas.

                     Go FAST Hawks!!

All the Events this Friday has CL ladies with legitimate chances of pulling it off.

Cadence Patterson has best times in both of her distance events (1600-3200) in the Region while Ayren Lightfoot (400 meter) and Aubrey Avey (300 meter hurdles) are at or near the top for their dashes.

Savanna Oberholtzer (100 meter) also is right at the lip of the cup (golf term) for a chance of getting an invite to Austin.

Hannah Hammer will need to put her best foot forward as there are 3 competitors presently with better times.

Hit Man says get rid of those Pests Lake!

Both Relays (4×100 & 4×400) has a lot of company in those events but with relays, especially the 4×100 relay, passing the stick can either bury or catapult you to the top. In other words you never know….that’s why they run these events.

4×100 Relay: Ayren Lightfoot, Abigail Lowth, Sofia George and Savanna Oberholtzer.
4×400 Relay: Aubrey Avey, Hannah Hammer, Cadence Patterson and Ayren Lightfoot.

The ReSporter will be in attendance and if you follow on Instagram or X then you will be in the know as soon as those events or finished.

CL Boys did have Anthony Hockman qualify on his High Jump Event which put him in the All-Time Top 10 but, the rest of the story, is watching this young man (he’s a freshman) continue for his next three seasons.

Great Times for these Athletes and Go Fast (Ladies) and Jump High (Hockman) Hawks!!

GO HAWKS!!
